LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
The main attraction in Boca Chica is the beach. This beach offers white sands and tranquil shallow waters far from shore. The bottom is sandy and it is safe for children with no waves and no deep water. If you enjoy shopping on the beach, then you will enjoy Boca Chica where vendors come to you with their wares. Because the beach is such an attraction, the hotels and resorts offer a wide variety of water sports and beach activities in which to partake. At night the main attractions are the local restaurants, discos, and a casino at the Oasis Hamaca Hotel.
DOMINICAN REPUBLIC WEATHER
A year-round clear blue sky is one of the reasons people like the Dominican Republic so much. The tropical weather changes only slightly from season to season. The temperature on the island remains fairly consistent all year long; it varies from 77-93 degrees Fahrenheit with the average being around 80-82 °F. The change in seasons is marked more by the rainfall and storms than by the temperature.
Weather on the south coast where Boca Chica is located is usually warmer than on the north coast. Colder temperatures can be found in the mountains. In the Cordillera Central, where the coldest peaks in the country exist, some temperatures below freezing point have been registered many times (especially at Pico Duarte). In the mountain cities, like Jarabacoa and Constanza, the average temperature is lower than the other parts of the country. It is usually around 60°F and can go down all the way to 45°F, especially in the mornings. Yet sometimes high temperatures of 75 °F have been registered in the mountains.
